Styles of Martial Arts: Wado-ryu is one of the most popular of the Japanese styles of karate. The founder of Wado-ryu combined his background in ju-jitsu with his mastery of what eventually became Shotokan to develop Wado-ryu. Wado is a very linear and hard style of martial art with powerful blocks, strikes, and kicks. |

Chinese Kenpo is a blend of many martial arts from many grandmasters. It is not so much a style unto itself as a generalized study of open hand combat skills. It blends both linear and circular, soft and hard, in its attempt to be as effective as possible. |

| Sho Muk Do was the creation of Sensei John Housman of Lancaster PA. Sensei Housman first studied Shotokan and later Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. He was a student of both Master Roger Bradley and Grand master Francisco Conde. Sensei Housman on a small regional scale did what Chuck Norris did on an international scale. He was primarily a Moo Duk Kwan student and black belt, but combined the strong hands and lower stances of Shotokan with the swift powerful kicks of TSD MDK and called his creation Sho Muk Do. Sensei Housman was a tremendous martial artist, a good personal friend and one who desired to always serve the Lord Jesus Christ. | ||||||||||||||
